Michael Gullo began playing guitar at age 9 and classical at 14. Over those years, he studied under several known classical guitar teachers in Ventura County. Upon entering Moorpark College, he studied under Professor Ron Borczon of Moorpark College/Cal State Northridge as well as James Hunley of Hunley Studios. During this time, he performed in masterclasses with world renowned classical guitarists such as Pepe Romero, Ana Vidovic and Xuefei Yang. He has frequently performed at the (VCCGS) Ventura County Classical Guitar Society and (ACGS) American Classical Guitar Society.
In 2020, he auditioned for Pepperdine University as a transfer student and was accepted, receiving the Christopher Parkening scholarship and Pepperdine grants to attend. Studying under classical guitar virtuoso Christopher Parkening, he received his B.A. in music/guitar performance in 2023. As of recently, he's been a featured artist of the week on the website of Grammy Award winning composer and performer Andrew York and in the Fall of 2024, he was accepted to continue his studies at USC (University of Southern California) for his master's degree in music performance. Ever since then, he has been teaching students from a wide range of playing levels and a wide range of musical styles alongside classical.
